NEBOSH Level 6 International Diploma Assessment

Your guide to taking your assessment with Astutis

NEBOSH updated the specification for the NEBOSH International Diploma in May 2023, and it is now known as the NEBOSH Level 6 International Diploma for Health and Safety Management Professionals.

The NEBOSH Level 6 International Diploma for Occupational Health and Safety Professionals has 3 assessments, now known as the DI1, DI2, DI3 respectively:

Unit DI1 assessment

The assessment for Unit DI1 is split into 2 sections:

• Scenario based questions (100 marks)
• Workplace activities, reflective tasks and short research project (200 marks)

You will have 4 weeks to complete your assignment and submit it to the NEBOSH online portal. We recommend you spend at least 40 hours on your assessment, which equates to around 10 hours per week.

The assessment is worth 300 marks and you need to achieve at least 50% to pass. 

Unit DI2 and Unit DI3 assessment

Units DI2 and DI3 are each assessed with a case-study and scenario based questions.

You will have 2 weeks to complete each question paper and submit it for marking. We recommend you spend at least 20 hours on each paper (around 10 hours per week).

Both DI2 and DI3 are worth 175 marks each, and you need at least 50% to pass. 

Remember, you need to register for your NEBOSH Level 6 International Diploma assessment at least 5 weeks before your chosen exam date.

Book Your Exam

You must pass all three assessments to achieve your full NEBOSH Level 6 Diploma qualification. NEBOSH will email you your results within 50 working days (10 weeks) after your submission date.

You’ll receive a hard-copy certificate for each unit in the post within 20 working days (4 weeks) after you receive your successful result.

A final overall qualification parchment will be sent within 20 working days (4 weeks) of passing your final unit.
